The HNI Model Portfolio consist of a $500,000 (margin) account.
The HNI newsletter was created March 1, 2020.
Unofficial trades are smaller trades that are not in the model portfolio.

  • Scaled To Your Account Size

Following the HNI model portfolio percentage allocations is the secret sauce behind HNI. But not everyone has a $500,000 account.

To get around this problem, HNI alerts use a scale for accounts ranging from $100k to $1 million. This scale translates the $500k model portfolio position sizing to match the proper sizing for other accounts.

  • How Much Would You Pay For Piece Of Mind And A Good Night's Sleep?

Not the kind of question you’re probably expecting but very likely you don’t want to be stressed over your holdings. Because we sell puts on only the best companies, you can go to sleep at night knowing that your underlyings aren’t going out of business and are very unlikely to experience some significant decline.

If you happen to get assigned, your holding MSFT or AAPL. There’s nothing stress over with these companies. When you go to sleep at night, the last thing on your mind will be, “will these options blow up my account?”

How Does The High Net Worth Income Newsletter Work?

  • You'll Get A Text And Email With The Latest Options Once We Find Them

Each text will contain a summary that we’re opening a trade or closing one. You’ll also receive an accompanying email with the details of the trade.

Closing Alerts: You’ll receive an email confirming when a trade is being closed for profit. If we are holding a trade that isn’t working, you’ll get an alert that we’re putting that capital to better use in another trade or exiting for cash.

Risk Off!

We spend hours identifying and removing risks from each option in the newsletter. We also go far out of the money, which means less chance any stock will fall below our option strike....

...but being far out of the money doesn't mean we sacrifice returns!

We also only hold for a day to a few days, greatly limiting our exposure to the market.

Got Questions?
You can send them here.

  • Option Assignment — No Problem!

Many put sellers dread option assignments. HNI views them as an additional opportunity to generate income. Why? "Stock Runs!"

Because we're selling puts on the best of the best, on assignment, we get to hold stock in a top company at a great price. This provides the opportunity to generate income well above what we can generate with put selling. As all put sellers know, income for each trade is capped. When you own stock, income is capped only by how much the stock increases (i.e., runs) or where you sell it.

To be clear, the goal is not to take assignment. But when that happens, it's a minimal impact on the portfolio. This is because our holdings require 20% margin, even when volatility spikes. Once assigned, that margin requirement only increases to 25%. Additionally, our strategy factors in the potential for assignment.

  • Managed Like A Portfolio

HNI isn’t a constant stream of new option opportunities. Instead, HNI follows a model portfolio, which restricts the number of options it can have open at one time. Using a model portfolio also allows for correct sizing of positions. As a subscriber, you’re able to follow the model portfolio’s allocation of positions.

Additionally, we’re able to model specific downside moves and ensure the portfolio has enough cash to cover these moves. We also model to S&P 500 fair value, which is always listed in the newsletter.

Put Options Sellers Are Naked Without Modeling

Why do so many put option sellers blow out their accounts? The simple answer is under estimating volatility. Eyeballing volatility simply doesn't work.

To be a successful put option seller, you need to model volatility. Your portfolio should always be prepared for a number of scenarios and have the ability to monitor volatility in real-time. The retail trader does not have any of these tools. HNI's model portfolio has built-in modeling, allowing subscribers to see various scenarios and their impact on the portfolio, allocations, and cash position at all times.

Without modeling, selling put options is like flying an airplane without instruments, periodically through clouds, and thinking you’ll land it safely.

  • Plunge Protection

We constantly model a 20% drop or more in the market and ensure the model portfolio is able to sustain it. There are often two scenarios that we’re modeling, depending on market conditions. Additionally, we model the impact of all positions being assigned and ensure the portfolio is able to sustain that event as well.

Early Bird Alerts

You might not want to wait until our profit target. Maybe you want to close out early or at least take a few contracts off sooner. For that, there's the Early Bird Alert.

Once we get to 50% premium, you'll receive a text alert letting you know. The alert will show the option name so you know exactly what to do.

  • Prediction Machine

Creating probabilities of where a trade may be by a specific date is essential to successful put option selling. Each option is listed with one or two scenarios for expected price on a particular date. We called this the predicted profit target. So far, predicted prices and dates have been 100% accurate for hitting on or before the date listed.

  • One-Time Purchase! No Auto Renewals.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are alerts delivered?
Alerts are delivered through text and email.

How often are emails sent out?
It depends on the market. Some weeks may have no alerts.

Do you offer options on ETFs and commodities?
Yes - we periodically sell options on SPY and even go long SPY for additional upside. We do not sell options on commodities.

What size account is needed?
A minimum of $100k is needed to trade the strategy. Most subscribers have between $200,00-$600,000+.

Do I need to rearrange my portfolio?
Yes - in order to follow the model portfolio, a portfolio needs to be aligned with the same positions and sizing. At the least, the cash percentage should be followed (implies all trades won't be taken).

Will I still receive texts alerts if I don't have a US/Canadian number?
No. A "+1" number is required for texts alerts. You can check services such as OpenPhone, SlyNumber, and potentially Skype. We cannot confirm how well these services work since no HNI subscriber has run into this issue yet.

Can I cancel my subscription at anytime?
One year subscriptions do not renew so there is no need to cancel. You'll get a notification at the end of your one year subscription to renew.

Monthly subscriptions can be canceled by clicking the link at the bottom of any newsletter or by replying to any newsletter that you'd like to cancel. Partial refunds are not provided but you'll continue to receive the newsletter until your billing period expires.

Does HNI work with accounts larger than $1M?
Yes - each $1M increases the scaling multiplier by 2. If the alert is for 4cts, a $1M account will use (2x4cts=) 8cts, $2M account uses (4x4cts=) 16cts, and a $3M account will use (6x4cts=) 24cts.

Does HNI require a margin account?
Yes - the strategy is oriented to margin accounts. Although cash accounts can loosely follow the trades.
